A way this world can be more accepting and less judgmental is everybody realizing that not everyone has to be a certain way or fit into this perception of “normal”. Difference is what makes this world such a beautiful place.
If I could change anything about the world right now I would make it more accepting. Although people are much more accepting than they were in the 1960s, I still feel as though we have more work to do.
I would love it if everybody was a lot less judgmental. Throughout my life I have noticed many instances where someone was not able to be their true self. This is because they feel pressure to be liked and accepted by others. I wish that people did not have to feel this way. The world is a much happier place when people can truly be themselves and do not have to hide behind a mask.
A way this world can be more accepting and less judgmental is everybody realizing that not everyone has to be a certain way or fit into this perception of “normal”. Difference is what makes this world such a beautiful place. I think that uniqueness is such a wonderful thing. I wish that everyone could think this way as well because acceptance really opens your eyes to see the real beauty of the world.
Nobody should ever make somebody feel like they do not belong. I think what contributes to someone making another person feel this way is what I mentioned previously, their view of normal. Some have created this model that they think everyone should fit into and when someone does not, they make them feel bad about themselves. This is what needs to change to make the world more accepting.
Lastly, everybody likes to say “be yourself” but how can people be themselves when others make them feel weird for doing so? A huge step the world needs to take in order to be more accepting is everyone accepting themselves. However, it gets hard to do this when the community around you makes you feel not welcomed.
I feel that I have no control over what is going on in the world right now. Coronavirus has completely taken over basically everything in our daily lives. Even though I do not have control over a lot of things right now, I choose not to dwell over that. I chose to spend my time thinking about what I CAN do and what I CAN control. I stop myself when I begin to say “what if...” or “I wish” and I accept the fact that there are things I have no control over. I try to focus on the present and the positive side of things because I have realized that there is no benefit of thinking about what you wish things could be like. It is much better to make the best of each situation. I hope that this Coronavirus situation will teach the world something positive about valuing life more, coming together, and making the best of every situation.
